Three young directors appointed for Grand Union Theatre LTD

Grand Union Orchestra Steps into 2025 with Fresh Energy and Exciting Plans

As we welcome 2025, Grand Union Orchestra enters a new chapter with a renewed sense of purpose, fresh energy, and a commitment to honouring the legacy of our beloved founder, Tony Haynes.

This past year has been one of reflection and resilience. Losing Tony, the maestro and visionary behind the Grand Union project, has been a profound and heartbreaking challenge. His incredible legacy continues to inspire us, and his ethos remains the heartbeat of our work.

With this in mind, we’re excited to share our plans for the year ahead. 2025 marks an important moment of growth and innovation as we expand our community projects, nurture the next generation of musicians, and celebrate Tony's unparalleled contribution to music and culture.

One of the highlights of this year is the introduction of three dynamic young directors who are bringing their talent, vision, and dedication to the GUO family:

  • Josh Brandler: Coordinating the music of GUO, Josh will ensure the creative pulse of the orchestra continues to thrive.

  • Basia Talago-Jones: In communications and partnerships, Basia is amplifying our reach and building meaningful connections.

  • Daniel Olabode: A creative powerhouse, Daniel is shaping projects and bringing vibrant visuals to life.

Supported by our incredible Company Secretary, Jane Deppa, this talented team is ready to make 2025 a year of unforgettable music, connection, and new beginnings.

We are deeply grateful to our community, audiences, and supporters who have stood by us through the highs and lows. Together, we step forward into this new chapter, inspired by Tony’s vision and driven by a shared commitment to celebrating the richness of cultural traditions and the power of collaboration.
