Raise The Banner commemorates significant anniversaries of famous events of dissent, protest and resistance in London’s East End.

These events still resonate in the UK today: the Poplar Rates Rebellion (1921), the Battle of Cable Street (1926), and the publication of Stepney Words (1971).

Raise The Banner features our east London choir Grand Union Voices, alongside the Grand Union Orchestra, introducing emerging young professionals alongside the veteran musicians.
