What can we learn from the musical legacy of the African diaspora?

A practical creative workshop for Grand Union Youth Orchestra led by Claude Deppa.

Claude, a trumpeter and percussionist from South Africa and experienced member of Grand Union Orchestra, will describe the history, cultural context, and techniques behind his music.

Youth Orchestra members will be encouraged to make their own music in response, drawing on these ideas to express the world that they themselves are growing up in.
