Akash Sultan is a well-established and respected singer, born in the UK and raised in northern Bangladesh.
He learned to sing and play the harmonium from the age of 10, gaining a diploma in classical music at 18 from the Sylhet Music Academy, and starting his professional career by performing on local and national radio broadcasts.
Akash returned to England in 1995 and immersed himself in London’s Bengali music scene. He joined Grand Union in 2000, performed at some of the UK’s biggest and most prestigious venues and festivals, and has also worked as an actor on Bengali TV.
Akash has featured on five of our albums, including Where The Rivers Meet, Now Comes The Dragon's Hour, If Paradise, and Undream'd Shores.
