Alongside our 40 years of professional touring and performances we have always made a point of creating projects with the communities from which our musicians spring, and with young people from those communities.

These projects or activities like them are continuing throughout 2023.
On the one hand there are the intergenerational participatory shows, produced to a high professional standard; and on the other, projects specially devised to develop and highlight the skills of young musicians, many of whom go on to join the professional band.
All these projects are led by same performers who are regular members of the Grand Union Orchestra, some since 1982.
