Daniel Louis - composer, soloist and teacher has been on the international music circuit for 20 years and has travelled to destinations such as Hong Kong, the UAE and Switzerland playing his first instrument, The Tenor and Double-Tenor Steel Pans.
He has performed with the likes of Roy Ayres, Wynton Marsalis, George Benson, and Courtney Pine at prestigious events such as: The North Sea Jazz Festival, The St. Lucia Jazz Festival and The Edinburgh Festivals.
Daniel comes with a blessed light and vision whether it is as lead artist or session musician. Daniel's album entitled “Blues Lypso” is a magical blend of Jazz and Calypso, featuring ten of the best jazz musicians in England.
When Daniel isn’t touring his expertise is given to teaching, which he has been doing for over twenty years.
Daniel Was Born in London, England of St. Lucian parentage and was first introduced to the steel pans while in school at the age of twelve. He is well known on the London Jazz scene and Caribbean circuit's also performing with The Grand Union Orchestra and has shared the platform with such luminaries as Ronnie Laws, USA Jazz Drummer Clifford Jarvis, The Great Clark Terry and The Great George Benson.
In the late 80s Daniel was also co-founder of the Jazz funk group “Double Vision” which toured all over England and performed live on London’s Jazz FM radio. Daniel is also co-founder of the steel pan group “Pan Tonic Steel Orchestra”. Daniel has done a great deal of cabaret work with his own groups such as “The Daniel Louis Steel Combo’s, The D. Louis Quintet, Pan-Ultimate Steel Band and Pan-Ultimate Caribbean Jazz bands. Daniel has also recorded on the Jazz Warriors album and on Guitarist Cameron Pears album “About Time”.
